Augusto já é amigo de Crespo de longa data, e em 2008 foi eleito para o primeiro mandato, no Democratas.
Na formação da Mesa Diretora, Augusto assumiu a 2a. Secretaria.
Além disso é o Líder do DEM naquela Casa Legislativa e desponta como uma grande revelação do partido para os próximos anos.
Para retribuir a visita e fortalecer as bases democratas na Região, Crespo ficou de estar com Augusto em Alumínio na primeira oportunidade.
